From anecdotes and boxes I been to over the winter, I'd say the adult birds have not fared too badly. Most of our recoveries have been juveniles. Perhaps we should worry more about this mini-drought affecting the first flush of grass growth and hence small mammal breeding. Anyway, we'll see soon . . . .
